La Casa de Paz
Shelter service opened in 1986. The facility is the only domestic violence shelter of its kind in Western
Pinal County. The goals of La Casa de Paz are to provide safety, stabilization, basic needs, guidance and counseling
to families in need. Women are assisted with exploring choices and alternatives to domestic violence. Through
advocacy and case management, staff assist members with locating appropriate providers of legal, medical, vocational, educational
and/or other human services.
Members who are ready to leave the shelter, but are not quite ready to set up independent living may qualify
for the transitional housing programs, Tres Casitas. There are 7 homes of various sizes to meet the needs of our client
members.
- Emergency shelter services for victims of domestic violence, and their dependent children,
- Tres Casitas transitional housing,
- Outpatient counseling, community case management and legal advocacy,

Animal Safe Home Network (ASHN)
- When there is violence in the home, it's important to have an emergency plan for sheltering yourself, your children and
your pets,
- No one should feel they are unable to leave a violent situation. There is help if the safety of a pet is preventing
you from leaving.
We are in need of volunteers who love animals.

Money Matters
Children are introduced to the concept of financial responsibility and financial literacy. Stipends are provided
to teach children how to budget, set goals, maintain a check register and save money. All aspects of financial management
are covered in age-appropriate lessons so that children learn the value of money and how to use it wisely.
Desert Schools Federal Credit Union funds this program for children in Pinal County.
Supervised Visitation/Safe Exchange Program
Working through Pinal County Family Court systems when incidences of Domestic Violence are alleged, this visitation center
provides a safe, neutral environment for non-custodial parents to visit their children.
This grant is made possible by funding from the U. S. Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women, through
